In his 14th year at Alabama, Patrick Murphy led the Crimson Tide softball team to a 52-11 record. An SEC finish of 23-4 put them in first place for the both the regular season, as well as the tournament. The team was ranked ninth by USA Today/NFCA and eighth by ESPN.com/USA Softball.
Nine returning starters, along with four newcomers, and 13 returning letter winners make up the team for 2011. The team is confident that this foundation of returning players guarantees another successful year.
