2010-2011 Arkansas Razorbacks Swimming and Diving Preview
The Arkansas Razorbacks check in at number 9 on my list due to their program only fielding a women's squad. Their program is competitive in its own right, but they just do not have the team talent to compete with teams such as Florida and Tennessee. They will have to face the defending champions in Florida as well, so that does not bode well for their chances.
The Lady Backs lost much of their talent from last season, when they performed admirably but were not able to perform consistently in the SEC Championship, and experience will be a factor this year as they face a stacked SEC in the women's division.
They lost three strong competitors to graduation last season, and their depth looks to be in question in many places across the roster. The schedule for the Lady Backs does not do them any favors either, as it is being regarded as one of the most difficult schedules in years for Arkansas.
The women will have their work cut out for them if they want to stay competitive enough to remain out of the cellar this season with their lack of experience. They will need to string some wins together and get some of the younger swimmers experience going into the SEC Championship this season. A successful season for them would be to post two or three wins and stay competitive against their higher quality opponents from the SEC.
