Other than the LSU/North Carolina matchup, there aren't any exciting SEC games this weekend. But if you love it like I do, and I know that you do, it's still the best day of the year.
Miami (OH) at Florida
Just as they did last year, Florida has padded their schedule with more than their share of lightweights.
Florida
Louisiana-Lafayette at Georgia
You think a lot of drinking goes on in Vegas? Ever been to Athens on a Saturday night, on a Labor Day weekend for the Dawgs season opener? Everybody gets hammered. Especially Louisiana-Lafayette
Georgia
Kentucky at Louisville
Lee Corso picked Louisville. They are the home team. The arrogant SEC homer in me wants to pick Kentucky, but I can't.
Louisville
Jax State at Ole Miss
Ole Miss has way too much defense for this team and gets a little time to find a QB after that weird Jeremiah Masoli/NCAA thing.
Ole Miss
Tennessee-Martin at Tennessee
Tennessee
Tennessee Tech at Arkansas
This is a perfect tuneup for the Razorbacks. The offense should get plenty of reps and the defense should gain some confidence.
Arkansas
Memphis at Mississippi State
Miss. State returns 8 defensive starters. Next Thursday the real fun begins
Mississippi State
Northwestern at Vanderbilt
If Warren Norman has recovered from recent arthroscopic knee surgery, Vandy should win. I'm going to have to flip a coin on this one...Hold on I dropped it.....
Vandy
LSU versus North Carolina
ESPN Gameday in Atlanta. North Carolina has epic NCAA problems right now. When the NCAA is the good guy in a situation, you know the other guy must have coached at Miami.
LSU
San Jose State at Alabama
For more reasons than I have time to type...
Bama
Arkansas State at Auburn
Kirk Herbstreit picked Auburn to win the SEC West. He also picked Ohio State to win the National Championship. I'm picking Auburn to win this game and we'll talk again next Thursday. Auburn improves exponentially for every freshman who becomes a solid contributor. Arkansas State lost games, in 2009, to Louisville by 8 points and to Iowa by 3 points.
