Our statistician, Tex Noel, contacted the NCAA regarding the impact on "all time wins" of Ohio State's self-imposed vacation of its 2010 victories and also USC 2004 and 2005. Here's the response from the NCAA:
"After consultation with the Committee on Infractions, there will be no change in the NCAA records on the Ohio State self-imposed vacation of records until the COI has completed its infractions hearings and the committee’s infractions report. At this point, there is no change to the NCAA Records for your third item. See below for the remaining information."
Tex' Question to NCAA:When you have time, please confirm how I need to change/list the following:
Ø USC 2004
vacated wins (2); new record (11-0)
Points scored/allowed (No records were set in these categories and as mentioned before there are no changes to the team statistics)
Coaches Pete Carroll?? His record also adjusted to 11-0 /BCS National Championship (BCS vacated their participation and victory in Orange Bowl)
Ø USC 2005
vacated wins (12 wins + BCS vacated participation in 2006 Rose Bowl game which was a loss); new record (0-0 – when participation in postseason is vacated any games played during postseason also are removed from w-l record even if it’s a loss)
Points scored/allowed (see above); Coaches (see above)/BCS National Championship (Texas won BCS National championship; USC participation in Rose Bowl was vacated by BCS)
Ø Ohio State 2010 vacated wins; new record; Points scored/allowed
