Georgia's upcoming SEC Tourney

(Georgia)

Georgia Bulldogs Basketball finished the season with a loss to Alabama on Saturday. Georgia finished this season with a 20 win season, first time since 2002 season. This year's squad did an excellent job in winning and keeping the game close. The Bulldogs leading scorer, Trey Thompkins with 15.8 points per game, had a monster season. Travis Leslie also had a good season,he had a 50.2% at field goals, and average 14.3 points per game.

Mark Fox in his second season as head coach at Georgia, turned the basketball program around. After coaching Nevada, Coach Fox came to Georgia last season with only winning 14 games. The Bulldogs are looking to get into NCAA tournament for the first time since 2008. In 2008, Georgia was coached by Dennis Felton, also the Bulldogs won the SEC Championship to get into NCAA tournament. The Bulldogs will face Auburn this Thursday afternoon at the Georgia Dome in round 1. Auburn who had a dismal year finished with 11-19, 4-12 in conference play. The Auburn Tigers fought hard against Georgia in February in the overtime loss. Georgia will be wanting to start the game off with the lead.

If Georgia wants to get into NCAA tournament, they MUST beat Auburn, then win the second round. If Georgia win the SEC Championship game, then they will be in the tournament automatically. It will be a disappointment if they don't make it at all. This season, Georgia played hard and even beat Tennessee on the road and beat Kentucky once. Mark Fox and Trey Thompkins deserves to be in the NCAA tournament this year together.
