Contact Senator Specter

Something that is fundamentally wrong to do becomes less fundamentally wrong proportionally to the amount of people (football teams) that do said action.

If there is any decency in this world the Patriots will never win another World Championship so long as Bill Belichik and/or Tom Brady is still involved with the team.

BTW...

Eric Mangini, Charlie Weiss, Tom Brady, Bill Belichik... they all ought to be subpoenaed!! Why don't we call Mr. Specter and urge him to seek justice in this matter. Here is his contact info.

Unbelievable
by: Darren Mazzu

Please get to the bottom of this. It's unbelievable how much of a lack of respect it is to us fans to not get told the whole story.

Unbelievable.

by: JayNolan

Our boys are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan. People are losing their homes in numbers never seen before. The economy is about to slide into recession. Our borders are porous. Oil is $100 a barrel and Senator Spector is reduced to licking the boots of Comcast because a team broke the NFL rules? This shameless *** of Comcast by that *** Arlen Spector couldn't be more transparent. There's some real *** going on in the world Senator but you think bread and circus'are the answer?

Patriot Spy tapes Investigation
by: Roy McCrerey

Dear Senator Spector,

Thank you for having the courage to investigate this matter. I am one of the millions of Americans who was outraged by commissioner Goodell's destruction of those tapes. Thank goodness somebody is finally doing something about it!

One point that I feel has not been addressed relates to Goodell's claim that the tapes contained nothing that would have given the Patriots "much of, if any advantage". Yet he claims he had to destroy them in case they leaked out and were used by others. He can't have it both ways! Either the tapes contained information that could be exploited, or they didn't. Which is it? How can he state in one breath that the Patriots could gain no real advantage from the tapes, and in the next breath state that he was afraid other teams might use them to gain a significant advantage? To my mind, something is rotten in Denmark...

I certainly hope you can get to the bottom of the matter, and I greatly appreciate your efforts.

Sincerely,

Roy McCrerey

Are you kidding me
by: Anonymous

This is crazy. Did you know Geore Halas had tape recorders in the visitors locker rooms. Vince Lombardi had people dress in security clothes to watch what other teams were doing. Before telphones in the dugouts baseball teams had people in the stands with walkie talkies stealing signals. My father was a high school football coach in the 1950 and 60s and they used to do what ever they could to find ot the other teams game plan. I have heard stories about Don Shula, when with Baltimore, having people hide in Memorial Stadium to watch the other team work out. This kind of thing has been going on in sport from the beginning of time. Most of you are living in a dream world, get real.

You're an idiot. The Govt. has bigger issues at hand. It's a disgrace that any elected official would be wasting the peoples time on this issue.

support
by: Anonymous

Senator Specter,

I support what you're doing with spygate. As a fan I was never satisfied with the way Goodell chose to handle it. Matt Walsh has a story to tell and as a fan I feel its my right to hear it, flimsy or not. Plus, Goodell's reasoning for destroying the "six" tapes is flat out retarded. And its insulting that he presumed fans would believe it. I recall Goodell telling Bob Costas on "Inside the NFL" that the tapes went back to 2ooo, but now there's only six??

sincerely,
Avid football fan

that's insane
by: Anonymous

it's not the governments job to referee professional sports. Don't you see that this is a fascist measure? Lying to the government puts you in prison. Let's have the government audit you, and come into your home and see if you have been conducting yourself entirely with virtue. It's none of their business and the NFL should destroy all tapes. What will the government stick it's nose into next?

You're an idiot
by: Scott

You've got to be kidding me, right? You are actually urging people to contact a US Senator to waste taxpayer's money with an investigation into whether the Patriots were taping signals? What an incredibly irrelevant issue to be wasting time and money on.

You obviously have a lot of free time on your hands, as apparently does Senator Specter, but our government officials should probably be spending their time on much more important issues.

Senator Specter obviously looks like he is grandstanding to get some votes in his next election - what is your idiotic reason for focusing on such a trivial topic?

Pats
by: Anonymous

This really makes you wonder if Tom Brady and the other Pats are really as good as everyone makes them out to be or if it was the spying that made them seem so great.

It was clear while watching the Super Bowl that Tom became frazzled when he was sacked and if he was really one of the GREATEST QB EVER....wouldn't he have been able to handle the pressure? It was evident he was not able to.

BELICHICKEN - It's time to lay the cards on the table!
by: Mitch

I know there are a lot of good coaches in the NFL. I also know that not one coach has all the answers as it appeared BELICHICKEN did until the last superbowl. Frustrated, exposed and in denial. The truth will come out, not sure the NFL will react accordingly, but the truth will come out.

Did other teams cheat?
by: Anonymous

I remember when the story broke that there were 10 teams under investigation (including the Patriots) for illegal videotaping. Why hasn't the NFL released those names? It worries me since that would imply that almost one-third of NFL teams were cheating. Who are they? Think about how many teams might still be out there playing "spy-games." Maybe an independent investigation is the way to go.

It's a sad, sad, thing when a politician has to keep changing his policy beliefs in order to keep his job. Do you really believe that people actually think you did that because of your interest in the welfare of the people. You've been in office too long and changed parties too many times for anyone to think or believe that one. I will die laughing when you lose your seat the next round of voting.....

no common sense
by: Anonymous

What happened to government?
No one is thinking and using common sense.
You are telling us to save, but government is just throwing the money away and WITH WHOSE MONEY?

Why can congress and the senators get a different health plan than the "normal" people. You were voted in by us. You are our servants. You should have a better plan than us?

so many are being paid off, stealing, lying and telling us how to live our lives.
I know, it is all about money and power, BUT COMMON SENSE IS GONE.

Besides, after 75, everyone should retire.!!!!!!!!!!

by: anon

If there is a way to contact Mr Specter it is not from this site or any other I can find. It is amazing that he can accuse anyone of duplicity. He has changed parties, stabbing his own voters in the back. It seems he changes positions (anything to HIS advantage) more often than he probably changes underware. He is nothing more than a crude self serving poltician who has brought us the sad state of the current administration.
